Description – 2026 Minnesota State and Federal Combo Poster
Minnesota pairs a statewide minimum wage of $11.41 an hour, effective January 1, 2026, with two separate paid-leave programs: Earned Sick and Safe Time and the new Minnesota Paid Leave program, whose benefits began in January 2026. The state also bars employers from taking a tip credit against the minimum wage, so tipped workers must still receive the full minimum wage plus any tips they earn. This 2026 Minnesota combo brings the required Minnesota state notices together with the federal notices on one laminated poster for the workplace.
- Effective January 1, 2026, Minnesota’s minimum wage is $11.41 an hour for all employers in the state, and the 90-day training wage for workers under age 20 is $9.31 an hour. Source: Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI), “Minimum wage in Minnesota”; DLI news release, “Minimum wage rate adjusted for inflation Jan. 1, 2026” (August 2025)
- Minnesota employees anticipated to work at least 80 hours in a year in Minnesota earn one hour of Earned Sick and Safe Time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours per year, usable for the employee’s or a family member’s illness or preventive care, domestic abuse, sexual assault or stalking, bereavement, and weather/public-emergency closures, among other reasons. Note the nuance: DLI lists the ESST poster itself as “informational only” (display encouraged, not required); the mandatory ESST duties are the hire notice, handbook notice where a handbook exists, and showing accrual/use on earnings statements. Source: Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI), “FAQs: Earned sick and safe time (ESST)”
- Minnesota Paid Leave benefits began January 1, 2026, providing partial wage replacement and job protection for up to 12 weeks of medical leave and up to 12 weeks of family leave per benefit year, capped at 20 weeks combined; employers without an approved equivalent Paid Leave plan have been required to display the Paid Leave poster since January 1, 2026.
