Description – 2026 Vermont State and Federal Combo Poster

Vermont reissues its wage notice every single year because the rate is indexed and can never go down: on January 1, 2026, the minimum wage rose from $14.01 to $14.42 per hour, with the tipped basic wage at exactly half that, $7.21. Vermont also runs one of the country’s more generous small-state leave packages — earned sick time for nearly every worker plus a voluntary family-and-medical-leave insurance program that began individual coverage in 2026. This 2026 Vermont combo carries the state’s minimum-wage, earned-sick-time, and workers’-compensation notices together with the federal notices on one laminated poster.

  • Vermont’s minimum wage is $14.42 per hour effective January 1, 2026, up from $14.01, and the basic wage for service or tipped employees is $7.21 per hour — exactly 50% of the full rate. The rate resets every January 1 by 5% or the change in CPI-U for the 12 months to the previous September 1, whichever is smaller, and it can never decrease, under 21 V.S.A. § 384. The state minimum wage applies to employers of two or more employees, and if tips do not carry a tipped employee to $14.42 in a workweek, the employer must make up the difference. • Vermont’s Earned Sick Time Act gives employees one hour of earned sick time for every 52 hours worked, up to at least 40 hours per year. The Department of Labor issues new Minimum Wage and Meals and Lodging Allowance notices each year effective January 1 because both rates are indexed, and it revises other notices whenever the Legislature or the department changes them. • Vermont’s voluntary Family and Medical Leave Insurance (VT-FMLI) program is now live, with individual coverage effective January 1, 2026, sitting alongside the state’s unpaid family-and-medical-leave entitlement of up to 12 weeks in one year for eligible employees. Vermont also requires a Workers’ Compensation Insurance Notice identifying the employer’s insurer or self-insured status.
