Description – 2026 Hawaii State and Federal Combo Poster
Hawaii’s wage floor steps up on a fixed legislative schedule — $16.00 since January 2026, with $18.00 already set for 2028 — and the state is unique in requiring employers to provide both health insurance and temporary disability coverage. This 2026 Hawaii combo carries the current wage notice plus all required federal notices on one laminated poster.
- Hawaii’s minimum wage is $16.00 per hour effective January 1, 2026, up from $14.00, under Act 114 (2022), with a further step to $18.00 scheduled for January 1, 2028. The tip credit in 2026 is $1.25 per hour (a $14.75 cash wage), and it may be applied only when the employee’s combined wages and tips are at least $7.00 more than the minimum wage — at least $23.00 per hour in 2026. Source: Hawaii Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (DLIR), news release “Minimum Wage to Increase to $14 on January 1” (stating the full Act 114 schedule and tip credit rules)
- Hawaii’s Prepaid Health Care Act requires employers to provide approved health insurance to employees who work 20 or more hours per week for four consecutive weeks. The health plan must be approved by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, and an employee’s share of the premium cannot be more than 1.5% of monthly wages or one-half the premium cost, whichever is less. - Hawaii employers must also provide Temporary Disability Insurance (TDI) coverage for non-work-related illness, injury, or pregnancy. After a 7 consecutive day waiting period, benefits are 58% of the employee’s average weekly wage, up to the maximum in the TDI law, and an employee’s share of the premium cannot be more than one-half of the cost or 0.5% of weekly wages.
