Site-Specific Safety Plans

What is a Site-Specific Safety Plan?

When performing work for many cities, government agencies, or general contractors, you will often be asked to create a Site-Specific Safety Plan, or SSSP.  The purpose of the SSSP is to lay out the steps your company will take to ensure that its employees will work safely when on a particular job site.  As the name suggests, it must be site-specific, meaning that it applies directly to a particular work site and address the specific hazards that will exist there.

First American Safety’s Site-Specific Safety Plan

It may seem like a lot of extra work to create these every time you will be working at a new site.  That is why First American Safety developed an easy-to-use plan that you can use in almost any situation.  All you have to do is download the file, enter information about your company, the jobsite, and the work you will be doing, and then submit it to whoever is requesting it.  It doesn’t get any easier than that!

Benefits of Purchasing This Plan

This site-specific safety plan comes in a MS Word document that is 100% customizable.  You can remove or add anything you feel is necessary, but you probably will not need to make any major changes.  This program format has been accepted by many major contractors and government agencies that our clients have done work for in the past.  The best part is that you only need to buy it once!  You will only have to make a few minor changes to use the SSSP on all of your projects!

Safety managers can spend hours putting together a plan similar to this.  We have done the hard part for you.  All you have to do is:

  • Purchase and download the file onto your computer;
  • Add basic company and project information to the cover sheet.  Parts that need your attention have been highlighted;
  • Fill in the information requested on the following pages;
  • Turn it in to the person requesting it.

It really is that easy!
