OSHA requires employers to provide the right PPE and train workers to use it — and injuries keep happening where that doesn’t happen. This 45-minute course is built to help employers meet those OSHA requirements.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – OSHA Training Course Description
Workplace injuries touch nearly every occupation, and most people will experience at least one during their working life. These incidents cost employers more than $100 billion every year. Because so many injuries happen when workers are not wearing the right personal protective equipment, OSHA requires employers to provide suitable PPE, maintain it, and train workers to use it.
This online course gives employees the information they need to avoid injury by selecting and using the appropriate protective equipment for their tasks.
Course Content
This course includes the following topics:
What OSHA's PPE regulations require of employers and workers
Head protection: when and what to wear
Eye and face protection for impact, splash, and radiation hazards
Respiratory protection basics
Hand protection: glove selection for the task
Foot and leg protection on the job
Why PPE Training Is Required
Most workplace injuries share a common thread: the worker was not wearing the right protective equipment, or was not wearing it correctly. PPE is the last line of defense when engineering and administrative controls cannot fully remove a hazard. A hard hat, a pair of safety glasses, or the right gloves can be the difference between a close call and a career-ending injury.
This course is designed to help employers meet OSHA’s PPE requirements while giving workers the practical knowledge to protect themselves. It is for employees in any industry where head, eye, face, respiratory, hand, or foot hazards exist, and for supervisors who need to enforce PPE use consistently.
