Fall Protection – Construction
Fall Protection – Construction
$59.99
Construction work puts people at height every day, and falls remain the leading cause of death in the industry. This 30-minute course is built specifically for construction workers, covering when fall protection is required and how the different systems work.
Fall Protection – Construction Training Course Description
This course makes sure everyone working in construction understands the requirements for fall protection, work positioning, fall restraint, and fall arrest systems. It is the construction-specific companion to general fall protection training, focused on the rules and equipment that apply on building sites.
Course Content
This course includes the following topics:

- Introduction to fall protection on construction sites
- Fall protection systems: restraint, positioning, and arrest
- Fall dynamics: what happens during a fall
- The components of a fall arrest system
- Inspecting, donning, and connecting your harness
What You Will Learn
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Explain why fall protection equipment and training are required in construction
- State the requirements for equipment used in work positioning, fall restraint, and fall arrest
- Describe the proper use of work positioning, fall restraint, and fall arrest systems
- Assess the hazards of falling six feet or more, with and without a personal fall arrest system
- Name the components of a personal fall arrest system and how they work together
- Inspect and properly don a full-body harness, step by step
- Attach the connecting device correctly to anchorages and lifelines
Fall Protection for Construction Workers
Construction has its own fall protection rules because the hazards are different from general industry. Leading edges move as the building goes up. Holes appear and get covered. Roof work, steel erection, and scaffolding each bring fall exposures that do not exist in a factory. OSHA’s construction fall protection requirements reflect that reality, and this course is built around them.
This training is the construction-focused companion to broader fall protection fundamentals. It is for framers, roofers, ironworkers, concrete crews, and anyone working at height on a construction site who needs to understand work positioning, fall restraint, and fall arrest systems as they apply under the construction standards.
Course details (as of October 2026): This course takes about 30 minutes to complete. A score of 80% is required to earn a certificate of completion, and you may repeat the course twice if you do not pass.
